Why is Good Friday celebrated? (The History of Good Friday)
It was on Good Friday when Jesus was crucified, and he set an example of love by sacrificing his life for others. This is the day when the Christian community remembers the cross of Jesus Christ. People make a rattling sound with wooden objects. As this day is considered a day of goodness, most people participate in social activities with enthusiasm. They plant trees and donate to the needy.

It is believed that on this day, Jesus Christ gave up his life to atone for the sins of humanity. He was cruelly mocked and beaten by Roman soldiers before being crucified on Calvary Mountain. Despite the somber nature of this day, it is referred to as Good Friday for various reasons. Some theories suggest that it is called “good” because of Jesus Christ’s holy act of sacrificing himself for humanity, while others believe that “good” in Good Friday actually refers to God.
Why is it inappropriate to greet someone with ‘Happy Good Friday’?
Good Friday is a highly significant day for the Christian community worldwide. However, it is not a happy occasion as it marks the day when Jesus Christ was crucified. Therefore, it is not appropriate to wish our friends a “Happy” Good Friday.
